    Supriya Shrinate, better known by her stage name Supriya Srinet, was born on October 27, 1977. She is an Indian politician and former journalist who is currently the National Spokesperson for the Indian National Congress.

Early life

    Shrinate is the daughter of former Congressman Harsh Vardhan.The Loreto Convent in Lucknow served as her school.The University of Delhi awarded her a Master of Arts in History.

    For eighteen years, Shrinate was a journalist in both print and broadcast media. She started working for India Today as a special correspondent in 2001. She started working as an assistant editor at NDTV in 2004. She became the chief editor of news at ET Now in 2008. In the same year, she was appointed executive editor and policy editor for ET Now.

Switch to politics

    She left her position as executive editor of ET Now in 2019 to run in the general election of India.She ran as an Indian National Congress candidate in the Maharajganj constituency, but was defeated by BJP candidate Pankaj Choudhary. Interestingly, she campaigned for office in the same constituency that her father, Harsh Vardhan, had served as an MP for in the past.
