Sundar Pichai completes 20 years at Google! All you need to know about his journey

Early Life

Sundar Pichai came from a poor family and was born in Madras, which is now Chennai. Regunatha Pichai, his father, worked for the General Electric Company as a senior electrical engineer.

IIT K Alumni

1993 graduate with a B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur (West Bengal). He met his future wife, Anjali, at IIT-K.

Ph.d was the Plan

Originally intending to pursue a Ph.D., he decided on an MBA. Pichai completed an MBA at the University of Pennsylvanias Wharton School. He was named a Palmer Scholar and a Siebel Scholar.

Prior Experience

Pichai worked at McKinsey and Company under the Applied Materials department and at Jive Software as director from 2011 to 2013. a business that offers communication and collaboration solutions.

CEO in 2015

In 2015, Pichai was named CEO of Alphabet and Google by co-founder and outgoing CEO Larry Page. Prior to holding the position of CEO, he was a product chief.

Projects Led by Pichai

Recognized for spearheading initiatives such as the development of Gmail and Google Maps, as well as ChromeOS and Google Chrome. He is also credited with creating Google Drive.

Sundar took to Instagram and wrote, On April 26, 2004, I started working at Google. Since then, a lot has changed, including my hair, technology, and the number of individuals using our products. The excitement I have from working for this incredible firm remains unchanged. Even after 20 years, I still feel fortunate.
