Basic Football Drills to Up Your Game: Level - Beginner
Passing and receiving
You can never perfect this skill enough! You can practice the technique with teammates or against a wall. As a beginner make sure to use the inside of your foot for both passing and receiving.

Header
Partner-up with a teamate and start this drill by standing 4-6 feet away from each other. Toss the ball just above head level, and the reciever must bounce the ball off their forehead. Add direction and force. Jump if needed!

Basic Dribbling
Use the top of your toes to guide the ball. Gently kick the ball while running. Try to touch the ball with at least every other step.

Dribbing with cones
Now arrange cones on the field and dribble around them. Place the cones in a straight line. Arrange the cone in different formations as your skills improve. Try using both feet!

Receiving and Turning
Often times in the game you will receive the ball and immediately have to change directions to avert players from the other team. Practice turning by using cones for this.

The Rondos game
Rondos or ‘tiki-taka’ is a popular game similar to monkey in the middle. There is usually one person in the middle who tries to steal the ball, while the rest of the player pass the ball to each other in a circle around them.
