Increase in Dearness Allowance
The hike in Dearness Allowance for the employees and Dearness Relief to pensioners by 4% has been announced. The new rate will come into effect from January 1, 2024, and will represent an increase of 4% over the existing rate of 46% of the basic pay/pension.

Raise in various allowances
Other than hike in Dearness Allowance (DA), the central government has also raised various allowances such as transport, canteen, and deputation by 25%. HRA by 27 percent, 19 percent, and 9 percent of the basic pay to 30%, 20%, and 10%, respectively.

Extension of Subsidy in Ujjwala Yojana
Cabinet has approved the continuation of the Rs 300 subsidy to PM Ujjwala Yojana consumers till 31st March 2025. The total expenditure for this will be Rs 12,000 crores. Other than this, Rs 100 has also been reduced on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Rs 10,037 crore for Uttar Poorva scheme
The financial outlay of the proposed scheme is Rs 10,037 crore for the scheme period from the date of notification for 10 years and it is anticipated that 83,000 direct employment opportunities will be created through this scheme.
