November 14, 2023

    Rescue operations at the collapsed tunnel site continued. Rescuers managed to breach 15 meters into the tunnel. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also visited the accident site.

    A six-member expert committee was formed to investigate the cause of the collapse. Rescuers insert large diameter steel pipes into the debris-filled tunnel to create a passage for evacuation.

    Rescuers managed to drill through 24 meters into the rubble. Rescuers are hoping to evacuate the trapped workers by inserting 800 meters and 900 meters of steel pipes to create an escape route out of the tunnel. CM Dhami announced that the state government would provide accommodation, food and health facilities to the families of the trapped workers.

    The drilling work was halted after rescuers bored 25 meters into the rubble. The rescue team begins the operation to insert the pipe inside the tunnel.

    Rescue efforts continue at the Silkyara tunnel collapse site. International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association president Arnold Dix arrives at the location site to aid in the rescue efforts. A six-inch pipe reaches the Silkyara tunnel, allowing for the supply of food and medicines to the trapped workers.
