First Telangana Legislative Assembly election
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won 63 seats and formed the government. K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) sworn in as the first Chief Minister of Telangana.

2018
On December 13, KCR dissolved the Legislative Assembly and called for early elections. After holding the elections, the second time in 2018, TRS won 88 seats and retained power. KCR again sworn in as Chief Minister for a second term.

On October 12, Assembly approved the addition of another MLA, bringing the total number of seats to 119.

Telangana Lok Sabha election took place in May 23. TRS won 9 seats, BJP won 4 seats, and INC won 3 seats.
