Arun Yogiraj's Background

Arun Yogiraj, the sculptor, hails from Karnatakas Mysuru and comes from a family with a five-generation history of sculpting idols.

Family Legacy

Aruns father, Yogiraj, was a skilled sculptor, and his grandfather, Basavanna Shilpi, earned patronage from the Mysore King due to his craftsmanship.

Early Life, Education

Arun Yogiraj began carving idols since childhood and holds an MBA degree. Despite briefly working in a private company after obtaining his MBA, he returned to the sculpting profession in 2008.

Gift to PM Modi

Arun Yogiraj sculpted the 30-feet tall statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at India Gate. He also gifted PM Modi a two-feet tall statue of Netaji.

Notable Creations

Aruns portfolio includes the 12-feet tall Adi Shankaracharya statue in Kedarnath, a 21-feet tall Hanuman statue in Mysuru, a 15-feet tall statue of BR Ambedkar, and more.

Recognitions, Honours

Arun Yogiraj has received numerous honours, including recognition from the royal family of Mysuru and appreciation from former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan during a visit to his workshop
