Chad Hurley was the previous CEO of YouTube. However, in 2010 when YouTube was acquired by Google, the CEO changed to Salar Kamangar. In 2014 Susan Wojcicki took over the role. In 2023, the current CEO Neal Mohan was appointed.

Google introduced many new features to YouTube. It expanded beyond the main website and started to offer network television, and mobile apps, and enabled YouTube to be linked with other platforms.
