Strangest Rules Imposed by Kim Jong-un in North Korea


    Only state-approved haircuts are allowed. There are 28 hairstyles to choose from for men and women have a selection of 18 approved cuts.

    Jeans are banned and people are encouraged to wear simple work uniforms instead.

    Using or distributing unsanctioned nicknames for the Supreme Leader is forbidden. People have allegedly been sent to labor camps for calling him Little Rocket Man.

    All North Korean citizens are required to wear a pin with Kim Jong-un or his father/grandfathers face on their shirt or jacket.

    Only red ink can be used by students to mark tests and homework because Kims father Kim Jong-il believed it was a lucky color. Blue ink is reserved for marking newspapers and books.

    Music and cultural offerings are carefully controlled by the state. Access to all outside media is prohibited. Radios and TVs are preset to only receive government stations.

    Leaving dust on portraits of the Kim family can result in fines and criticism sessions. Portraits must be cleaned every day.
