Tehmina Durrani

Tehmina Durrani is a Pakistani author, artist, and activist who is known for being the First Lady of Pakistan and for writing the controversial book My Feudal Lord in 1191.

Early Life

Tehmina Durrani, born and raised in London, Pakistan into a mixed Pashtun and Punjabi family. She was the daughter of a former Governor of State Bank of Pakistn and managing director of Pakistan International Airlines, Shahkur Ullah Durrani.

Background

Tehmina Durrani has risen from a priviledged position as a member of a political family in Punjab. The political connections of the Durrani family allowed them to build on the success of the Punjab region in the early-20th-century.

Failed marriages

At Seventeen, she married Anees Khan, and they had one daughter together. Durrani and Khan divorced in 1976. Durrani later married Ghulam Mustafa Khar, a former Chief Minister and Governor of Punjab. Durrani and Khar had four children. After being abused ky Khar for several years, she ended her marriage of fourteen years.

Shehbaz Sharif

She married Shehbaz Sharif in 2003 who is current Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Famous author

She has written many books in her life including A Mirror to the Blind (1996), Blasphemy (1998), and Happy Things in Sorrow Times (2013).

Social service

Tehmina has contributed to other social works that include a movement that she started in 2001 that aims to free the spirit of Islam and bring Muslim women to the forefront.
