Manipur conflict

    On May 3, 2023, an ethnic conflict between the Scheduled Tribe Kuki-Zo people and the valley-based Meitei people began, which has caused a lot of internal displacement, material and loss of life.

    The Iran-Israel proxy conflict is an ongoing cold war that has recently escalated into military action and attacks. On April 13, 2024, Iran attacked in retaliation for a suspected Israeli airstrike on its embassy compound in Damascus. The operation True Promise was a series of drone and missile attacks against Israel by Irans Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.

The Sahel

    One of the longest-running hostilities is the one in the Sahel, which began in 2011. The Islamic State Sahel Province (IS Sahel) and al-Qaedas Sahelian affiliate Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) have been driving a ten-year regional jihadist insurgency in the central Sahel states of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, all of which are now controlled.
