This 37-year-old Congress candidate contesting elections from the North-East Delhi seat first hit the headlines in the year 2016 when he was arrested by Delhi police on sedition charges in connection with an event organised in the JNU campus. He contested elections for the first time in the 2019 polls from Bihars Begusarai as a CPI candidate but could not secure victory.

Maneka Gandhi
An animal rights activist, environmentalist, and four-term MP from BJP is contesting elections from Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh, where she is sitting MP. Maneka Gandhi is up against Ram Bhual Nishad of the Samajwadi Party who is backed by the Congress as part of the INDI alliances seat-sharing deal. Maneka stands at a crucial junction as her victory is important to sustain her political legacy.

Surgeon-turned-politician, Sambit Patra has been BJPs spokesperson since 2014 and is given the responsibility of securing victory from the Puri constituency that he had lost to Pinaki Misra of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) by a narrow margin of 11,700 votes.

The veteran politician is up against Congresss Divyanshu Budhiraja, leader of the Youth Congress unit in Haryana. Known for his clean image and simple lifestyle, he has a reputation for being a taskmaster.

Bansuri Swaraj
Contesting elections from the New Delhi seat held by BJP since 2014, Bansuri Swaraj is the daughter of BJPs veteran politician and former External Affairs Minister, Late Sushma Swaraj. A practising lawyer in the Supreme Court, Bansuri is a graduate of Warwick and Oxford University. In her poll debut, she is battlefield challenging AAPs Somnath Bharti, MLA elected thrice from Delhis Malviya Nagar.

Known as the first female CM of erstwhile state of J&K, she is PDPs candidate in the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat, contesting against National Conference candidate and religious leader Altaf Larvi. Both these candidates are part of the parties who are members of the INDIA bloc, yet they are fighting against each other after the tie-up collapsed over seat-sharing.
