New Delhi: In India, food safety remains a pressing issue, affecting various aspects of dining and food delivery. Reports of contaminated or spoiled food are increasingly common, from complaints about restaurant meals to troubling findings in food deliveries. A recent incident has highlighted these concerns once again.  A customer who ordered a burger and fries from Burger King via Zomato experienced a disturbing issue when he discovered mould on his burger. The incident came to light after the customer, Yaman Dev Sharma, took to social media to share his experience.

Customer shares post on X platform

In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Sharma described the unpleasant surprise he encountered "Ordered from Burger King via Zomato. After finishing the fries, I opened the burger (Veg Whopper) and today I learned they've introduced a new flavour—where mould comes free with the burger bun," Sharma wrote in his post, accompanied by a video and photo showing the mouldy burger.

Reactions from Zomato and Burger King

The social media post quickly gained attention, prompting responses from both Zomato and Burger King. Zomato expressed their concern, stating, "This is very shocking. We are sorry you had to experience this. We will investigate the matter. Meanwhile, a member of our team will definitely reach out to you. Please DM us your registered contact number."

Burger King also addressed the situation, assuring the customer of their commitment to quality. "Hi Yaman, we never intend to provide such an experience. Can you please DM us your contact number, store location, order ID and email ID so that we can get in touch with you? Rest assured we will investigate this thoroughly," Burger King responded.
