Winter wonderland: Bear's adventure in Sonamarg's snowfall is a must-watch for instant cheer

Sonamarg, a popular tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal region, has become a gorgeous winter wonderland as a result of the recent snowfall. Following a few days of modest rainfall that lowered temperatures throughout the Valley, Kashmir experienced a return of the winter chill. The spectacular beauty of Sonamarg has captured the attention of many people in a number of videos that have been circulated online.

The public's attention has recently been drawn to a visually captivating film from Sonamarg that shows a bear ambling over the snowstorm. The bear is shown in the video barking at some dogs, as if to frighten it, but the bear is not alarmed by their presence.

The viral clip was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Weatherman Shubham, along with the caption, “Bear spotted just now in Sonamarg , Snowfall has picked pace currently. Video from Mudasir Rashid bhai.”

Himalayan bear gathers love 

The video, eversince the upload, has garnered over 31,100 views online and had sparked various responses from netizens. The largest mammal in Kashmir, the Himalayan Brown Bear, is rarely sighted because it usually lives at an elevation of 2,000 to 2,500 meters, mostly above the tree line. These bears are critically endangered because of their declining numbers.

Meanwhile, authorities said on Monday that landslides near Kishtwari Pather in Banihal, which were caused by rain, kept the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway blocked to motor vehicles. The Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police advised people to avoid travel and issued a warning against traveling on NH-44, which is closed because of significant landslides near Kishtwari Pather.
