A former JP Morgan analyst received a compensation of $35 million (approximately ₹292 crore) after a tragic incident in 2015 where a glass door in a New York City building shattered on her, causing permanent brain damage, as per the New York Post. The incident, captured on CCTV and widely circulated on social media, showed Meghan Brown being struck by the 7.5-foot-tall lobby door as she walked through it.

During the trial in Manhattan Supreme Court, Brown recalled, "I do remember seeing glass, like, everywhere, in the lobby, near me." However, she couldn't recollect the exact moment the door shattered but remembered "being inside and I was on the floor. At that point, there were people helping me."

The impact of the incident resulted in a traumatic brain injury, forcing Brown to leave her role as a high-level analyst at JP Morgan. She expressed that the injuries hindered her ability to perform everyday tasks and led to significant challenges in trusting her own brain. Brown disclosed that she has been diagnosed with PTSD, experiencing slowed memory, diminished focus, and compromised vocabulary.

Despite attempting to resume her work at JP Morgan post-incident, Brown's performance didn't match her previous capabilities. Consequently, she was terminated by the company in 2021. Her lawyer stated, "Eventually she was let go permanently and has not worked in that type of investment banking since. She keeps trying but just can’t perform."
