New Delhi: Kali Yuga, meaning "the age of darkness," marks a significant phase in the cosmic cycle of the solar system. This cycle spans 25,920 years, and when divided in half, it reveals four distinct yugas. These yugas are paired, with two Satya Yugas and two Kali Yugas aligned together. However, the other two, Dvapara Yuga and Treta Yuga, are separated by the interplay of Kali and Satya Yugas.

Corelation between cosmic distance, human intelligence

The importance of this cosmic cycle lies in the changing distance between the solar system and the Super Sun, around which it orbits. The farther the solar system travels from this Super Sun, the more human intellect diminishes. Kali Yuga, characterised by the greatest distance, represents a time when human intellect is at its lowest. As the solar system moves closer, however, human intelligence begins to flourish.

Ancient wisdom suggests that the human capacity to understand and harness electrical and magnetic forces within the body improves as the solar system draws nearer to the Super Sun. The brain’s electrical activity, symbolised by crackling and pulsating neurons, reflects this intelligence. How well the brain can carry electrical charge directly influences one's clarity of thought and cognitive abilities.

Kaliyuga: End of darkness and the coming of light

Kali Yuga is often seen as the age that marks the end of darkness. The notion that time needs a beginning or an end is challenged, as time progresses regardless of individual circumstances. Even if one were to achieve immortality, time would continue its relentless march forward. Ancient scriptures suggest that when Kali Yuga ends, a figure known as Kalki will arrive, metaphorically riding a winged white horse, symbolizing the dawn of light and the banishment of darkness.

The arrival of light destroys darkness, just as flipping a switch banishes the shadows in a room. As the solar system transitions from the dark phase to one of light, human intelligence will naturally increase. "Bright ideas" will become more common as intelligence and light are intrinsically linked in human perception.

What is the significance of yugas, communication?

The scriptures beautifully capture the essence of different yugas, each associated with varying levels of human intelligence and communication. In Satya Yuga, for instance, the mind will take precedence over the intellect. Ancient cultures, particularly in India, have long distinguished between the mind and the intellect, a concept that modern science has only recently begun to explore.

In Satya Yuga, communication and daily life will be governed by mental processes rather than speech. People will no longer need to vocalise their thoughts; communication will occur mentally. This mental communication was said to dominate Satya Yuga, where speech was minimal, and actions were driven by the power of thought.

Shambala: Mystical birth place of Kalki

Shambala, the legendary birthplace of Kalki, is known as the land of peace or silence. According to tradition, this mystical kingdom is hidden in the Himalayas and is accessible only to those who have attained enlightenment. It is a realm where love, wisdom, and happiness reign supreme, and its inhabitants are immune to suffering, want, or old age.

Shambala is known by many names, including "The Forbidden Land," "The Land of White Waters," and "The Land of Radiant Spirits." In various traditions, it is revered as a paradise. For Hindus, it is referred to as Aryavartha, while the Chinese call it Hsi Tien, the Western Paradise of Hsi Wang Mu. In Russian lore, it is known as Belovodye. However, it is best recognised throughout Asia by its Sanskrit name, Shambala, or its more familiar form in the West, Shangri-La.

Kalki: The foretold savior

Both the Vishnu Purana and the Shrimad Bhagwat Purana reference Shambala as a blessed land. It is described as a place of peace and prosperity ruled by a benevolent king. The scriptures also foretell the birth of Kalki, the lord of the universe, who will emerge at the conjunction of two yugas. He is destined to restore balance when the rulers of the Earth have devolved into plunderers, marking the dawn of a new era.
