After the CCTV footage went viral on social media, police have started a search for the accused. Although, the youth at fault has not been identified by police authorities yet, no case has been registered in the matter so far.Incidents raises questionsThe incident raised several questions. The fact that the youth was allowed to get away even after committing such a heinous act by slapping himself with a slipper 10 times invites criticism of the village panchayat and their ways of arriving at justice. Also, that the incident was not reported to police clearly points towards a clear non-compliance of law and order, as the incident should have been reported to police for the right action to be taken against the youth seen in the video. As per the information available, the police swung into action and is on the lookout for the youth. However, the girl and her family already left for Bengal after the disturbing incident. It defies belief to see that had the incident not been captured on CCTV footage, the youth would have easily gotten away with the shameless act.
