Jain's post shed light on the dire conditions prevailing in AC 3-tier coaches. His sister encountered overwhelming overcrowding near the coach gates, rendering it impossible for her to board the train. Tragically, amidst the chaos, her child was inadvertently left behind on the station platform.
Expressing anguish, Jain described how his sister, in a desperate bid to reunite with her child, had to disembark from the moving train, resulting in injuries. The lack of basic amenities such as washrooms further compounded the distressing situation.
Jain's post served as a wake-up call to railway authorities, urging intervention to address the chaotic conditions in AC coaches. He highlighted the presence of unauthorized passengers without tickets, exacerbating the overcrowding issue. Tagging Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Jain appealed for immediate action, including the deployment of railway police or ticket checkers to ensure passenger safety and restore order.
One user shared, "Just last month, I encountered a similar issue, but no railway authority took action. The TTE was even absent until the final stop."
Another expressed, "This aspect is consistently overlooked by the railways. Numerous complaints about overcrowding by passengers without reservations in AC and sleeper coaches."
Another user remarked, "It's too crowded. We need more train services and population control. Airports nowadays resemble bus terminals. Population growth is alarming, especially with illegal migrants who evade paying for train seats."
