Video: Newly-appointed minister Savitri Thakur misspells ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ draws flak from netizens

Savitri Thakur recently caught attention on social media after one of her education campaigning video got viral on social media in which she can be seen incorrectly writing ‘Beti Bachai, Beti Padhao’ to 'Beddi Padhao Bachhav’.

Newly appointed Union Minister of state for Women and Child Development Savitri Thakur has landed herself in trouble after she incorrectly wrote the slogan 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' on the education awareness campaign in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. Instead of writing the correct spelling of the phrase, she wrote - "Beddi Padhao Bachao". 

Netizens questioned her appointment as minister soon after video surfaced on social media. According to the affidavit, she is 12th pass. Several commented that the question is not about her capability but about the "educational level" of the country.

The video has been widely circulated on social media questioning her ability to handle the country and her appointment in the central ministry. Many users expressed concerns drawing parallels between her incorrect writing and her efficiency as a minister. 

While some social media users defended her saying that it would not be fair to judge a minister based on a small mistake.

Savitri Thakur is recently been elected as a Member of Parliament from Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar Lok Sabha constituency and serving as central minister for the first time.
