Journalist Mandeep Punia woke up to a rude shock on Tuesday morning as he found all four tires of his car missing, along with the wiper blades. This unfortunate incident occurred just before his scheduled interview with former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in Karnal.
He expressed frustration on social media and questioned whether this act of vandalism should also be seen as an attack on journalism. Sharing a video of his car, now resting on bricks without its tires, Punia sought answers and assistance from his followers.
In the video, Punia speculated on the possible motives behind the theft. The locals suggested the involvement of a drug addict who may have sold the stolen items to a nearby scrap dealer.
Here's what Mandeep Punia posted:

एक ताऊ पास खड़ा था नौजवान का मज़ाक़ सुनकर बोला, “और दो पहिये मोदी ले गये. बुलेट ट्रेन में लगाएँगे उन दोनों को.”
कैसे तेजस्वी लोग हैं मुझे कई हज़ार का नुक़सान हुआ है और ये मज़े ले रहे. https://t.co/hkcbR6ZILR
Responses poured in from social media users, ranging from sympathy and offers of help to criticism of the situation and its implications. The incident sparked debates about security measures and law enforcement in the city.
Some users questioned the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies, urging urgent action to address such incidents and ensure the safety of journalists and citizens alike.
Despite the public outcry, it remains unclear whether Punia has lodged a formal police complaint regarding the incident, leaving many uncertainties surrounding its resolution.
This incident follows previous controversies involving Mandeep Punia, including his arrest by the Delhi Police during the farmers' protests at the Singhu border, underscoring the challenges faced by journalists in the course of their work.
