New Delhi: An unusual event of bhakti has surfaced from Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi, where a storyteller got married to deity Laddu Gopal in a temple. According to the sources, her adopted brother performed the kanyadaa. The storyteller is known Radha Shastri, is deeply devoted to Krishna, married her deity, Laddu Gopal. On Tuesday, at the famous Langdadas Temple in Kachhauna town, she performed the marriage rituals with the deity, considering him her husband. Radha's adopted brother not only conducted all the rituals but also gifted her jewelry and other items worth around seven lakh rupees.

Who is Radha Shastri?

Radha Shastri, a 24-year-old storyteller from Chhibramau, has been narrating religious stories for nearly seven years. Her parents, unhappy with her devotion, had distanced themselves from her. In February of this year, she came to Mahesh Madhiya village in the Kachhauna police station area to narrate the Bhagavad Gita. During this time, she visited the Langdadas Temple and decided to marry Laddu Gopal there.

On Tuesday, following all rituals, Pandit Mahesh Maharaj conducted the marriage ceremony between Radha Shastri and Laddu Gopal. After the completion of the 'saat phere', the women present completed the rest of the rituals. Radha's adopted brother, Sanjeev Yadav, attended the ceremony and performed the kanyadaan ritual. As a gift, he presented jewelry worth seven lakh rupees. Sanjeev Yadav, who is from Chhibramau and stationed in Srinagar with the army, claimed that he would also provide Radha with a house in Kachhauna.
