April 26 was the planned day of their wedding. The bride's family graciously welcomed the visitors as the groom's procession arrived at the bride's hamlet on Friday.

The bride's relatives discovered the groom's dark skin while the wedding was in full flow. This sparked conversations among the bride's family's women. The bride's side's opposition to the marriage intensified as word got out. The bride declined to proceed with the wedding after learning of the circumstances.

Panchayat Convened Regarding The Subject

Tension among the groom's family members increased after this. The bride's family was not persuaded, despite numerous attempts to do so. The groom's family was forced to return home without the bride after their futile pleas. A panchayat meeting was called the next day to try to address the matter, but no agreement could be reached.
