In a tragic incident, a professor at Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS) was found dead with his 8-year-old daughter inside his office on Sunday evening. Police identified the professor as Sandeep Goyal. They believe he first killed his daughter and then died by suicide. Both bodies were found with injuries to their throats. According to police, Professor Goyal told his wife he was taking their daughter for a ride in the afternoon. When they hadnt returned after several hours, the wife went searching for them. She found her husbands scooter parked outside the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology on the university campus. The department gate was locked from the inside, and security guards were called to break it open. Inside, the wife discovered a horrifying scene - her husband and daughter lying dead in a pool of blood.Investigation underwayProfessor Goyal had been employed at the university since 2016. Colleagues reported he had been struggling with depression recently. Police are investigating this angle, looking into his medical history and speaking with his doctor. The wife may also be questioned to understand more about his mental health.
