Bangladesh's shocker: A 10-year-old boy in Dhaka perishes during circumcision surgery after receiving the incorrect amount of anaesthesia

A ten-year-old kid in Bangladesh passed away after a horrifying circumcision procedure. The incident happened on Tuesday, February 20, in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. At a hospital in Dhaka, the kid received an injection of anaesthesia prior to the procedure. According to sources, the infant would not have survived if the anaesthesia dose had been administered incorrectly. The deceased's family members assert that they did not authorise the child to have anaesthesia.Conversion carried out by nearby barbers

No professional at work?

Local barbers have conducted circumcisions on children without administering anaesthesia in India and other nations. Male children born into the Muslim community must undergo the religious practice of circumcision.

Others underwent the surgery as well

However, because circumcision is said to have health benefits, many members of other religious sects also get circumcised. In Bangladesh, the number of deaths following circumcision procedures has gone up; still, very few child deaths resulting from local barbers performing the procedure have been reported.

Incorrect anaesthetic dosage

According to accounts, the youngster, known as Hanif Tahmid, lost his life after receiving an anaesthesia injection inadvertently. Patients receive anaesthesia after undergoing a number of examinations, and experts know how much anaesthesia is appropriate to give. According to some studies, if individuals are given anaesthesia without the necessary testing, it could be lethal.

According to accounts, the child lost consciousness following anaesthesia and surgery, according to the doctors on duty at the hospital at the time of the occurrence. The doctors added that the youngster lost consciousness for a while and that the hospital administration failed to recognise the gravity of the issue and took no action to help the infant regain consciousness.

The hospital that has no ICU!

There are also rumours that the hospital did not have an intensive care unit and that as the child's condition began to worsen, his parents requested to transfer him to a different hospital. When the ambulance arrived to take their child to a different hospital, it was already too late and the youngster had passed away at the facility.

No authorization for anaesthesia...

The child's father alleged that he had not authorised the hospital to administer anaesthesia to his child. Along with calling for stern punishment against the crime's perpetrators, he has also sought an investigation into the incident.
