On Tuesday, April 9, there was an accident reported from the Durg area of Chhattisgarh. This news was reported in the district close to Kumhari. When a bus fell into a mine, eleven individuals lost their lives and over thirty were hurt. 

More on the mishap

This information was provided by police officers. Near Khapri village, which is under the jurisdiction of Kumhari police station, the bus went into a 50-foot-deep mine of murum, or red soil. According to officials, eleven people riding in the vehicle died and about 38 others were injured.

Vishnu Dev Sai, the chief minister of Chhattisgarh, tweeted, "Received the sad news of a bus full of employees of a private company crashing near Kumhari in Durg. News of the death of 11 employees is being received in this accident. I pray to God to give peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved families. Proper arrangements have been made for the treatment of the employees injured in the accident. I wish for their speedy recovery." 

While the injured are being rescued, some are being transported to Raipur and Bhilai Hospitals. There have been reports of six workers dying in the incident. Given the state of the injured, it is not impossible that the number of fatalities would rise.
