A 29-year-old woman in Manhattan lost both her feet after her boyfriend pushed her onto subway tracks during an argument. The tragic incident occurred at the Fulton Street subway station on Saturday morning. According to reports, the woman and her boyfriend were engaged in a heated argument when he forcibly pushed her onto the tracks. As a result, she was struck by a southbound 3 train.

Upon receiving reports of the incident around 10:30 AM ET, NYPD officers rushed to the scene. They found the woman conscious but severely injured on the subway tracks. Despite her injuries, she remained responsive. However, due to the severity of her leg injuries, both her feet had to be amputated. Fortunately, emergency responders were able to stabilize her and transport her to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Accused fled from the scene

The suspect, identified as Christian Valdez, allegedly fled the scene but was later apprehended by NYPD officers in Brooklyn around 9:35 PM. He was charged with attempted murder and felony assault. The MTA cut power to the third rail as a precaution, and the woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.

Witnesses to the incident described the harrowing scene. One witness, named William, recounted how he found the woman lying between two subway cars. He attempted to comfort her and keep her calm until help arrived. The victim, in a display of remarkable resilience, even joked about going to the spa despite her ordeal.

As investigations continue, the motive behind the argument and subsequent push onto the subway tracks remains unclear. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers faced by commuters in crowded subway stations and highlights the need for increased safety measures.
