The controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks on India’s Got Latent refuses to fade, and now content creator Tanmay Bhat has seemingly weighed in with a cryptic Instagram post. While he hasn’t explicitly referenced the issue, social media users believe his latest video is a subtle dig at the ongoing drama. Tanmay, a close friend of comedian Samay Raina, shared a slow-motion clip of himself dancing to B Praak’s Ranjha from Shershaah, particularly to the lyrics Mera Dola Ni Aaya. He was joined in the video by fellow content creator Naveed Manakkodan. Captioning it, “Me watching the news every day,” Tanmay left his followers guessing about its true intent.
While some viewers saw the video as a playful jab at the controversy, others speculated that Tanmay was simply relieved to have avoided getting caught up in the ongoing debate. One user commented, "Bro got flashbacks," hinting at Tanmay’s past legal troubles. Another wrote, "Tanmay is happy that no case was filed against him." Some joked that he might be feeling FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) over not being involved, with one saying, “Tanmay bhai ko to FOMO ho rha hoga news dekh kr.” Others focused on the Ranjha reference, with comments like, "B Praak makes yet another entry,” and "@tanmaybhat be like—Been there, done that, bounced back."
Tanmay’s involvement in online controversies isn’t new. Back in 2015, his comedy group All India Bakchod (AIB) faced severe backlash for its AIB Knockout roast featuring Bollywood stars like Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Alia Bhatt. The show was slammed as “vulgar, obscene, and pornographic,” leading to multiple FIRs against the group.
The current controversy erupted after Ranveer Allahbadia, in a now-deleted episode of India’s Got Latent, asked a contestant an inappropriate question: "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?" His remarks sparked massive backlash, forcing Samay Raina to delete all related videos. Ranveer later claimed that he and his family had received death threats. The situation escalated when Maharashtra Cyber summoned him to appear on February 24. Adding to the drama, singer B Praak, who recently canceled his appearance on Ranveer’s podcast, weighed in on the issue. He stated that Ranveer should be forgiven if he genuinely regrets his actions. While Tanmay has not directly commented on the controversy, his cryptic video has added another layer of intrigue to an already heated debate.
