Blood contains bilirubin, a yellow-orange pigment that is left over after red blood cells die. Bilirubin is eliminated from the bloodstream by the liver and ends up in your feces. Hyperbilirubinemia is an accumulation that occurs when your liver is overworked or when your system contains too much of it. This results in jaundice, a yellowing of the skin, and the whites of the eyes.
Some symptoms that may be experienced include fever, Flu-like symptoms, stomach pain, dark urine, chills, weight loss, confusion, itchy skin, abnormal drowsiness, bloody vomit, tar- or clay-colored stools, bruising or bleeding easily, and feeling unusually irritated.
Newborns are frequently affected. Jaundice, or icterus, affects about 60% of newborns in the first few days of life. Although it's less prevalent, adults can also contract it. If you suspect jaundice, consult a physician straight immediately. It can be a sign of a gallbladder, liver, or blood issue.
Our heart goes out to Surya Kiran's family and friends. May his soul rest in peace. His body of work will always be admired by fans.
