The Swiggy Instamart delivery worker who stole a pair of sneakers that were kept outside a Gurugram flat on April 9 has the support of actor Sonu Sood. Advising people to "be kind" and refrain from taking any action against the man in a post on X, he urged people to "give him a new pair of shoes" and stood up for the delivery man.

Social media users reacted to his post with a conversation, and the majority of them trollingly accused the actor of "encouraging stealing." In fact, one person called this one of the oddest posts that he had ever read. After Rohit Arora posted a CCTV clip of the incident on X and claimed the delivery man had stolen his friend's sneakers, Swiggy's customer service responded.

However, commenting on the incident, Sood said, "If Swiggy’s delivery boy stole a pair of shoes while delivering food at someone’s house,. Don’t take any action against him. In fact, buy him a new pair of shoes. He might be really in need. Be kind."
