New Delhi: In an unusual turn of events, a man in Bihar bit back and killed a snake that had bitten him, leading to a bizarre incident that has captured local attention. Santosh Lohar, a laborer working on a railway line project in Rajouli, was asleep at his base camp on Tuesday night when he was bitten by a venomous snake. Instead of succumbing to panic, Santosh took an unexpected approach. Grabbing the snake with an iron rod, he bit it three times, ultimately killing the reptile.

When questioned about his unusual reaction, Santosh revealed, “In my village, there’s a belief that if a snake bites you, you must bite it back twice to neutralise the venom.” This local folklore drove Santosh to take such drastic action in the heat of the moment.

Immediate Medical Attention

Following the incident, railway officials promptly transported Santosh to a nearby hospital for treatment. The news of his unique encounter spread rapidly, drawing a crowd to the hospital eager to hear his story firsthand.

Many locals speculated about the nature of the snake, suggesting it might not have been venomous, as Santosh’s condition did not deteriorate significantly. Dr. Satish Chandra, the physician treating him, confirmed that Santosh, who hails from Jharkhand, is now recovering and is out of danger.

The peculiar event has left the community abuzz, reflecting a blend of traditional beliefs and unexpected human reactions in the face of danger.
