A man was arrested in Dehradun on Sunday for allegedly strangling his live-in partner to death and dumping the body in a forest on the outskirts of the city. This case is quite similar like Shradha Walker murder case. Shahrul lodged missing reportAccording to the information, on January 29, a woman named Shahrul had lodged a missing report of her daughter in the police station in Patel Nagar, Haridwar. He had told that his 24 year old daughter Shahnoor has been missing for the last several days. She lived in a rented room near Sanskriti Lok Colony ISBT in Dehradun itself. Police registered the case and started investigation.Know what happened On the day of the incident, the duo had a heated argument and Rashid strangled Shehnoor to death. He then put the body in a bag and dumped it in the forest in the Asharodi area. Father lodged complaint in police about missing of her daughter. The accused said during interrogation that his girlfriend used to disappear all night in the name of work. Thats why he took this step. Since then both of them started living in a rented room in Sanskriti Lok Colony. Rashid asked his girlfriend about her work. During this time she told that she worked in a parlor. When asked for the address of the parlor she avoided it. The girl would often return to the room late at night. Many times she would remain missing all night and would come back the next day.Rashid suspected that his girlfriend was involved in some wrongdoing. The girlfriend reached home at 2 oclock on the night of 26th December. During this, there was an altercation with Rashid. When there was a fight between the two, the girl slapped Rashid. After this, Rashid strangled his girlfriend to death in anger.Police action No trace of the girl could be found for several days. Then the police found a suitcase in the Asharori forest in Dehradun, which was giving off a foul smell. When the police opened the suitcase, they found a decomposed body inside. However, it was difficult to identify the dead body. When the police got the post-mortem done, it was found that the body was not that of someone else, but of the same girl whose missing report had been lodged at Patel Nagar police station in Haridwar. Rashid had been on the run ever since the matter was reported to police and was arrested following a tip-off.
