Police have arrested two brothers in the case of murder of a 12-year-old minor child in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. Both are masons by profession. Police said that the body of a 12-year-old boy was found in a pond in Navi Mumbai, after which a case of murder has been registered against both of them.
According to the information, one of the accused kidnapped the child from Thakurpada area of Navi Mumbai and tried to rape him. According to the police, when the boy raised an alarm, the accused killed him, while his brother helped in disposing of the body.
The boy's body was found in a village pond near Taloja, Navi Mumbai. Police said that the child had gone missing after leaving the house to play on March 25, after which a complaint was lodged at Shil-Daighar police station. The child's hands were tied and there were injury marks on his head.
Police acted on technical and intelligence inputs to zero in on Ramzan Mohammad Kudus Shaikh (20) and his brother Azad Mohammad Kudus Sheikh (30) for the crime.
According to the police, one of the two accused brothers had tried to molest the child but the child resisted him and made noise. The accused then crushed the child's head with a stone and strangled him to death with a piece of cloth. His brother helped him dispose of the body. Police are conducting further investigation in this matter.
