A disturbing incident has emerged from Chhattisgarh, shedding light on the harrowing ordeal of a woman who was abducted while en route to Goa from Surguja district. The perpetrators, in a brazen act of cruelty, transported the victim to Goa where she was subjected to a week-long ordeal of repeated sexual assault. However, swift action by the authorities led to the arrest of the culprits, bringing a semblance of justice to the victim.

Abduction and Assault

The victim, in her complaint lodged with the Surguja Superintendent of Police, narrated the harrowing events that unfolded on January 15. While on her way to her sister's residence, the woman was coerced into a car by two individuals named Shubham and Anshu. To her horror, two more perpetrators awaited inside the vehicle. Subsequently, the assailants forcibly took her to the outskirts of Ambikapur city where they subjected her to a heinous act of gang rape.

Traumatic Ordeal in Goa

Following the initial assault, the perpetrators transported the victim to Goa, where the nightmare continued. For seven agonizing days, the woman was subjected to further instances of sexual violence perpetrated by the accused. On January 22, the culprits callously abandoned her near her sister's abode, marking the end of her tormenting ordeal.

Legal Action and Arrests

Upon lodging a complaint at the Gandhi Nagar police station, authorities swiftly sprung into action. Four suspects, identified as Shubham Ujeria, Anurag Ujeria, Sanjay Chaudhary, and Pushparaj Lakra, were apprehended. Subsequent interrogation and gathering of evidence led to their confession and subsequent arrest. The police also seized the SUV and three mobile phones utilized during the crime.

While the trauma inflicted upon the victim is irreparable, the arrest of the perpetrators brings a measure of solace and underscores the imperative for swift and decisive action to combat such heinous crimes.
