Bengaluru delivery boy: In a harrowing incident unfolding in Bengaluru, a 30-year-old female software engineer narrowly escaped a sexual assault perpetrated by a food delivery boy. The assailant exploited the pretext of needing to use the washroom to gain entry into her residence, where he attempted to violate her.

The Alarming Encounter

The unsettling episode transpired when the victim ordered dosa through a prominent online aggregator at 6:45 pm on March 17. Upon delivery, a 20-year-old food delivery boy arrived with the order. Displaying hospitality, the woman offered the boy water before promptly closing the door.

However, moments later, the boy returned, ostensibly seeking permission to use the washroom. Seizing the opportunity, he gained access to the house once more. After using the washroom, he brazenly requested water again. Alarmed by his persistent behaviour, the woman retreated to the kitchen to fetch water, with the delivery boy following closely behind.

A Narrow Escape

In a chilling turn of events, the assailant made unwelcome advances towards the woman inside her own kitchen, grabbing her hand. Reacting swiftly, the woman wielded a frying pan in self-defence, striking the assailant on his back. Startled by her retaliation, the assailant hastily fled the scene.

Seeking Justice

Undeterred by the traumatic encounter, the courageous woman promptly alerted the police helpline 112, detailing the disturbing incident. Subsequently, she lodged a formal complaint at the local police station, initiating an investigation into the matter.
