The Gurugram Police have initiated legal proceedings against the outgoing councillor of Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), along with his gangster brother and 16 others. The incident unfolded on Friday night in Dhanwapur village, prompting the deployment of over two dozen police personnel to restore order, as confirmed by DCP (West) Karan Goel.

During the confrontation, which lasted approximately an hour, gunfire erupted, leading to the damage of four vehicles. Shockingly, one of the groups allegedly attempted to run over two individuals with a car, intensifying the severity of the clash.

MCG's outgoing councillor Navin Dahiya and his brother Sunil alias Tota, identified as the leader of the Tota gang, reportedly attacked their neighbour Dinesh Dahiya and his family using sticks, as per police reports. Tota, who had recently been released on bail after being in jail, allegedly orchestrated the assault.

Business Rivalry Turned Violent

The roots of the conflict stemmed from a longstanding dispute between the Tota and Dinesh Dahiya families over dominance in their soil excavation and water supply businesses, according to police statements.

On the evening of the incident, Tota and his associates targeted Dinesh at his office in Surat Nagar, resulting in severe injuries to Dinesh, who was subsequently hospitalised at Medanta hospital. In revenge, Dinesh's family protested outside Tota's residence.

Escalation and Police Intervention

Subsequently, Tota's associates arrived at Dinesh's house, firing shots into the air and instigating a confrontation. The clash escalated into stone-pelting, leading to further injuries and vehicular damages. Although the police were summoned, the accused had absconded by the time law enforcement arrived.
