Ramadan is the most important festival of Islam religion. The month of Ramadan will start tomorrow from March 12 and the first fast of Ramadan will be observed all over the world. 

About Ramadan

In Islam, fasting means dedicating oneself to God. This fast is observed from sunrise to sunset for a whole month. Along with this, the tradition of Sehri and Iftar is also performed in the month of Ramadan. According to Islamic traditions, whatever you eat in the morning during the fasting in the month of Ramadan before sunrise, then it is called Sehri and after praying the whole day, the fast is broken after praying to God in the evening after sunset, which is called Iftar.  Eating or drinking anything is not allowed during fasting.

Ramadan started in Saudi Arabia

The moon of Ramadan has been visible in Saudi Arabia today i.e. on March 10, so the first Roza here will be observed on March 11. Whereas in India and Pakistan, the moon of Ramadan is visible one day after the moon of Saudi Arabia, hence in these countries the fasting of Ramadan will start one day after Saudi Arabia.

Importance of Ramadan

The month of Ramadan is considered the most sacred and important in the religion of Islam. People of the Muslim community observe Roza. Fasting throughout this month and spend most of their time in worshiping Allah and thanking Allah and celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr at the end of this month. Which is also called Meethi Eid.According to Islamic beliefs, the month of Ramadan is considered so holy because in this month Prophet Mohammad received the holy book of Islam, Quran Sharif, on the occasion of Laylatul-Qadr in the year 610. 

It is said that Taraweeh prayers are offered in the month of Ramadan. The special thing about this namaz is that during the entire period of Ramadan, Imam Sahib recites the entire Quran in Taraweeh namaz.

About timing of first and last fasting

This time the first fast will be the shortest of 13 hours 20 minutes. At the same time, the last fast will be for 14 hours and 8 minutes.
