Gunwant Kalal, a local journalist in Dungarpur, Rajasthan, became a hero on March 31 after he challenged a leopard while on assignment.  The dramatic event happened in the village of Gadiya Bhadar Metwala, close to the Bhadar forest, where the journalist encountered the dangerous predator.  The incident started when the locals noticed the leopard, which was hunting for a nilgai close to a pond behind a house, and approached it. The community also called journalist Gunwant Kalal, who had come to report on the happenings, for help in alerting the forest department.

The leopard and Kalal

The enraged leopard went aggressively at Kalal, biting into his leg as the locals tried to frighten it away with stones. Nevertheless, unfazed by the assault, Kalal bravely defended himself by shoving the predator away with his other leg. During the fight, the leopard tried to grab his hand, but Kalal grabbed it by the neck and jaw, overwhelming it with pure willpower.  The entire encounter is captured on camera, which has gone viral on social media.

Fiercly frightened!

The leopard, enraged by the villagers' attempts to frighten it away with stones, turned aggressively and bit Kalal in the leg. But instead of backing down in the face of the onslaught, Kalal bravely defended himself, deflecting the predator's advances with his other leg. When the leopard tried to reach for his hand during the fight, Kalal grabbed it by the neck and jaw and gave it no chance in the face of sheer willpower.

A video of the whole thing was taken, and it is becoming popular on social media.Inspired by Kalal's courage, the villagers banded together and helped to tame the leopard by tying it up with a rope until the team from the forest department could arrive.
