Britain's Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, expressed gratitude to the public on Sunday, marking her first public message since undergoing abdominal surgery in January. She shared a heartwarming picture alongside her three children, captured by her husband, Prince William, heir to the throne.

In the photo, Kate can be seen in good spirits, surrounded by Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte.

In a message shared on microblogging platform X, Kate wrote, "Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother's Day." The photograph was taken earlier this week in Windsor, where the family resides, as confirmed by her Kensington Palace office.

Kate underwent major surgery

Kate underwent a two-week hospital stay in January following surgery for a non-cancerous condition. Since then, she has been absent from public view, with Kensington Palace stating that she is expected to resume official duties post-Easter, towards the end of this month.

Earlier, expectations were rifle on social media regarding Kate's health, fueling rumors about her well-being. Her office issued a statement emphasizing that only significant updates about her recovery would be provided.

Coinciding with Kate's surgery, palace officials announced King Charles, aged 75, would undergo treatment for an enlarged prostate. He was diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer. Despite postponing public engagements for treatment, he has been seen fulfilling some duties as head of state.
