Mumbai: In a shocking incident on an AC local train traveling from Churchgate to Virar, Chief Ticket Inspector Jasbir Singh was assaulted by three passengers with invalid tickets. Singh sustained minor injuries during the altercation.
A video recorded by passengers inside the coach shows one of the accused, Aniket Bhosale, pinning Singh against the coach wall. The confrontation began when Singh asked the passengers to present their tickets. Upon discovering the tickets were invalid, Singh requested they pay the fine according to railway regulations.

The situation escalated when Bhosale started arguing with Singh. The Chief Ticket Inspector then instructed the passengers to disembark at the next station, Borivali, but Bhosale refused. The video footage shows the passengers chasing Singh, holding him against the railing inside the coach, using abusive language, and tearing his shirt.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) boarded the train and took control of the situation. The accused were removed from the train and made to apologize to Singh. They also provided a written apology and paid the required fine.
This incident highlights the challenges faced by railway officials in maintaining order and enforcing ticketing rules. Authorities are urging passengers to comply with ticket regulations and respect the duties of railway staff to ensure a safe and orderly travel environment.
