New Delhi: A horrific case of child abuse and neglect has shaken Ohio. A 23-year-old man, Edward Murray, has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend's one-year-old son, Karim Keita.

Brutal beating leads to tragic loss

According to reports, Melissa Powers, Karim's mother, had been dating Murray for approximately three months. On May 1st, while Karim was playing outside their home, Murray allegedly took him inside and subjected him to a brutal beating. The extent of the abuse resulted in a heart attack for the young child.

Delayed medical attention costs Karim his life

Despite the severity of the attack, Murray simply put Karim to bed. It wasn't until Karim stopped eating and drinking that Melissa finally sought medical attention. Tragically, Karim was pronounced dead on May 5.

A medical examination revealed the devastating consequences of the assault. Karim had suffered broken ribs, liver damage, internal bleeding, and brain swelling. The horrific details paint a picture of unimaginable suffering for the helpless child.
