Gujrat: Rakshit Chaurasia, accused of a horrific road accident in Vadodara, Gujarat, has a long criminal history. A new video has gone viral on social media, in which he is seen getting into a drunken fight in February. Police investigation has revealed that he has drunk and created a ruckus in the past.

The police gave a warning.

A lawyer, who lives in the same building, had also complained to the police, but they did not file any official case. The police had just let him off with a warning. On the night of March 13, Rakshit Chaurasia was driving the car at a speed of over 120 kmph when he lost control and hit pedestrians and vehicles. Hemani Patel died on the spot while three others, including her younger daughter, were injured in the accident.

The accused was drunk

Chaurasia, however, claimed in his defence that he was not under the influence of alcohol nor was he driving at high speed. He said that his vision was obstructed due to the airbag opening and the accident occurred due to a pothole on the road. But his story seems to be proved false in the video that has emerged from the scene. In the video, he was seen getting out of the crashed car in an inebriated state and heard shouting, "One more round!"

The police have also arrested the second accused.

Police confirmed that Chaurasia was drunk and driving rashly at the time of the accident. The second accused in the case, Mit Chauhan, who was the owner of the car and was present in the car during the incident, has also been arrested by the police. The forensic report is awaited to ascertain the contraband consumed by Chaurasia.
