Delhi: A female Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) constable, identified as Reena, has gone viral on social media after a video captured her managing a crowd at New Delhi Railway Station while carrying her baby. The footage, shared by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, showcases Reena performing her duty with a baton in one hand and her one-year-old child strapped to her chest. The post read: “She serves, she nurtures, she does it all… A mother, a warrior, standing tall… Constable Reena from 16BN/RPSF performing her duties while carrying her child, representing the countless mothers who balance the call of duty with motherhood every day.” Dressed in her RPSF uniform, Reena is seen attentively overseeing the passengers while ensuring her child remains safe. Her dedication has sparked widespread admiration, with many applauding her commitment to both her duty and motherhood.

Why did Reena carry her child to work?

Reena, whose husband is a CRPF constable posted in Jammu and Kashmir, has no immediate family members to take care of her child. With her in-laws no longer alive and no caregiver available, she has no choice but to bring her child to work while continuing her search for a reliable caretaker. In an interview, Reena explained, “It's a normal routine for me. I just make sure the baby doesn't get hurt. I'm looking for a caregiver to help me, but until then, I'll keep doing what I have to do.”

Called to duty after New Delhi railway station stampede

Reena was originally on leave, but she was asked to report back on duty following the tragic stampede at New Delhi Railway Station, which claimed 18 lives. Despite the challenges of balancing her role as a mother and a law enforcement officer, she returned to duty, ensuring passenger safety while carrying her sleeping baby.
