Mumbai gears up to battle heat wave; Sets up cold rooms to stock medicines

In preparation for a scorching summer, the Mumbai civic body has installed cold rooms and provided heat stroke medications at its medical facilities.

According to the sources, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said in a release that it had installed air conditioning in 103 of its Hindu Hridaysmrat Balasaheb Thackeray "Aapla Davakhana" (public dispensaries).

The cool rooms designed to treat patients suffering from heat stroke will feature two beds each for fourteen major hospitals, general hospitals, and medical institutions. According to the announcement, medical officials and staff members have received training on managing and preventing heat stroke.

The guidelines to combat the situation has already been released for the prevention from heat stroke. IMD has given the yellow alert, which means people will have to take precautions while going out, you have to be hydrated and use goggles while going out.
