Milkha Singh of treadmill! Odisha man creates Guinness world record by running 68 KM in 12 hrs

The lure of creating a world record has encouraged human beings to push their limits and reach levels none thought was possible. Now, a 34-year-old man named as Sumit Kumar Singh has set a Guinness world record by running the greatest distance on a manual treadmill in 12 hours. 

Who is Sumit Kumar Singh? 

Sumit Kumar Singh is a resident of Basanti Colony, Rourkela. He is married and has a two-year-old son. He works in a private firm at Kalunga. 

Guinness World Record acknowledged his feat 

His feat has been acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World Records. A video of his run, from 8:15 AM to 8:20 PM on March 12 was uploaded to the official site. 

Early records of Sumit Kumar Singh 

Sumit had earlier run for 12 hours and 24 hours on track, during which he covered 102 KM and 161 KM, respectively. Sumit Kumar Singh also holds a world record for the most marathon distances covered in 30 days, which he set last year. Additionally, he has qualified to represent India in South Africa for the COMRADES race, where he aims to run 86 KM within 12 hours.
