Mumbai: A recent incident aboard a Mumbai local train has sparked outrage after a passenger was caught on camera tossing gutka packets from the train window. What ensued was a shocking defense of his actions, with the man claiming that his contribution to maintenance warranted his right to litter.

The video, which has since gone viral on social media platforms, depicts the man callously discarding gutka packets onto the station premises. When confronted by a fellow passenger, he brazenly justified his littering by asserting that he pays for maintenance services. Railway Seva, the official support handle for passengers, responded to the video, expressing dismay at the man's audacity.

In the footage, the passenger who spotted the littering attempts to reason with the offender, advising him to dispose of the packet responsibly. However, the man dismisses the suggestion, insisting that his supposed maintenance payment grants him impunity to litter as he pleases. His flippant response drew sarcastic remarks from fellow passengers, highlighting the absurdity of his justification.

The video, shared on X, has garnered significant attention since its upload on April 17, accumulating over 2,000 views and numerous interactions. Commenters expressed their disapproval of the man's behavior, condemning his disregard for cleanliness and civic responsibility.

While some individuals criticized the offender's actions, others called for stricter enforcement measures to deter such behavior on public transportation. The incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by authorities in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within public spaces, particularly in crowded urban environments like Mumbai.
