Uttar Pradesh: Mahakumbh, the world’s largest religious gathering, is not just a spiritual hub but also a massive marketplace for vendors selling a variety of items. Among them, content creator Shubham Prajapat recently conducted a unique experiment—selling tea at the Kumbh Mela to see how much he could earn in a single day. His shocking revelation of making a ₹5,000 daily profit has left the internet buzzing with reactions.

The ₹5,000 per day tea business

Prajapat documented his experience in a video titled "Selling Tea in Kumbh Mela," where he set up a small cart offering chai and bottled water. According to him, business was booming in the morning as visitors eagerly stopped for a hot cup of tea. However, the afternoon saw a dip in sales, allowing him to take a break. To maximize his earnings, he later walked around the mela selling tea to potential customers. By the end of the day, he claimed to have generated ₹7,000 in sales and pocketed ₹5,000 in profit, a figure that astonished social media users.

Social Media explodes with reactions

Prajapat’s earnings became a hot topic online, with users quickly calculating his potential monthly income. “If he makes ₹5,000 daily, that’s ₹1.5 lakh per month!” one user wrote. “Kumbh Chaiwala is here! Move over, Dolly Chaiwala!” another commented, referencing Nagpur’s viral tea seller.  “This might be the perfect business for me!” a third joked.  “₹7,000 sales with ₹5,000 profit? That’s crazy margins!” someone noted. “Bro is inspiring me to quit my studies.” a user humorously remarked.

From viral fame to business struggles

This is not the first time a vendor at Mahakumbh has gone viral. Earlier, a necklace seller named Monalisa Bholse captured the internet’s attention when a blogger shared her video. However, unlike Shubham, her viral fame worked against her, leading to overwhelming crowds that forced her to shut down and leave the mela.
