Valentine’s Day Pact (X/@gharkekalesh)
As couples worldwide celebrate Valentine’s Day with flowers, chocolates, and heartfelt gestures, one unique agreement is making waves on social media. A married couple from West Bengal, India, has formalized their relationship rules through a 'Valentine’s Day Agreement' to maintain peace and strengthen their bond.
This unusual agreement has been documented on a ₹500 stamp paper, outlining household rules for both partners. Anaya and her husband Shubham, who have been married for two years, decided to draft a formal contract to avoid conflicts and rekindle their love.
The agreement states, "On this Valentine’s Day, Shubham (Party 1) and Anaya (Party 2) will define certain household rules to prevent ongoing arguments that have arisen post-marriage and to revive the love that has been impacted due to Party 1’s obsession with trading."

This agreement humorously addresses common issues in their marriage, particularly Shubham’s passion for cryptocurrency trading. Some of the conditions include:
Shubham must refrain from discussing trading markets during dinner.
He must maintain bedroom etiquette and avoid mentioning capital gains or losses during intimate moments.
He is prohibited from calling Anaya nicknames like ‘My BeautyCoin’ or ‘My CryptoPie.’
No trading app usage or cryptocurrency research videos on YouTube after 9 PM.
While Shubham has specific restrictions, Anaya also has some responsibilities:
She must avoid complaining about Shubham’s mischief to his family.
She cannot bring up his ex-girlfriend during arguments.
She should limit expensive skincare purchases and late-night food orders.
To ensure compliance, the agreement includes penalties for rule violations. "If any party fails to follow the rules, they will be responsible for household chores such as laundry, toilet cleaning, and grocery shopping for three months," the document states.
This humorous yet structured contract has taken social media by storm, sparking widespread reactions. Users are leaving amusing comments, with some even considering drafting similar agreements for their own relationships.
