Following the devastating earthquake in Myanmar, Bangkok, Thailand's capital, also experienced the tremors causing high-rise buildings to shake. At that moment, a Korean family was stranded on the 31st floor, a clip of which is becoming viral on social media. In the clip, water from the terrace pool is observed gushing down the building, such that it seems a waterfall had flowed from the building.
Last Friday, Myanmar was struck by two 7.7- and 6.4-magnitude earthquakes whose effects reached as far as Bangkok. There was a Korean family in a high-rise building who were shaken to their wits by a severe shaking, whereby the child began screaming out of fright. That gory moment is recorded on the trending social media video.
Owing to the earthquake tremors, water began swelling in pools of skyscrapers. It was visible from the video that water from the pool began pouring down from sides of the building, giving a view as if a waterfall is flowing from the roof. It generated more fear among the crowd.
But the uploader later reassured everyone that the Korean family is totally safe. "We have descended from the 31st floor. Even a little child is safe. She did not complain even while walking up the stairs," the uploader said.
The earthquake not only made high-rise structures shake but also knocked down an under-construction 30-storey building. The building, which was intended for the use of government offices, fell due to the shudders and 43 workers were trapped inside.
The epicenter of this earthquake was 50 kilometers east of Monywa city of Myanmar, as informed by news agency AFP. Besides Myanmar, this earthquake's tremors were also experienced in Bangkok and other places.
