Ajay Giri, the field director at Agumbe Rainforest Research Station (ARRS), posted the video on Instagram. Indian Forest Service officer Susanta Nanda also shared it on X (formerly Twitter).The drama began when village locals spotted the enormous cobra crossing a main road. Seeking safety, the snake slithered into a bush within the compound of a house. Following the incident, the homeowner quickly alerted the forest department and ARRS. Ajay Giri and his team, rushed to the scene, simultaneously guiding locals over the phone on how to stay safe until they arrived.Rescue operation unfoldsUpon arrival, Giri and his team carefully recovered the King Cobra from the bush. The snake was then placed into a rescue bag, ensuring both the snakes safety and that of the people around. Following the rescue, the cobra was released back into the wild, far from human habitation.Educating the communityAjay Giri took to social media to describe the incident. He detailed how ARRS responded immediately to the call, providing immediate instructions to the locals to avoid any mishaps.
