On Thursday, paramilitary forces at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport apprehended a 24-year-old man who had been impersonating a pilot. The individual, identified as Sangeet Singh from Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddha Nagar, was noticed by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel while he was strolling near the airport skywalk dressed in a pilot's uniform. Despite lacking any authentic credentials, Singh had managed to deceive even his own family into believing that he was a commercial pilot.

Singh went to great lengths to maintain his facade, even going so far as to wear an ID card around his neck indicating that he was an employee of Singapore Airlines. However, upon closer examination, it was discovered that Singh's credentials were fraudulent. He had created a fake ID card claiming affiliation with Singapore Airlines using a business card maker application. Furthermore, he had obtained the pilot's uniform from the Dwarka area of Delhi.

Authorities revealed that Singh had completed a one-year aviation hospitality course in Mumbai back in 2020. "Presenting himself as a Singapore Airlines pilot to CISF personnel, he displayed an ID card hanging from his neck. Upon interception, he was identified as Sangeet Singh in possession of a Singapore Airlines ID card for in-flight operations, which were subsequently confirmed to be counterfeit upon verification," stated a senior police official to a news agency. As a result, a case has been filed against the accused.
